Rhonda will meet with you for your first session to understand your personal treatment goals, and to explain what kinds of therapy options may be most appropriate for you. During this initial consultation she will also discuss parts of your history that may be important in understanding your current problem. At the end of this first session you both will have come to an agreement about the goals of therapy, an approach to take and details such as the frequency of sessions.
Speak to your GP about whether you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan. The current rebate for services provided by a Clinical Psychologist is $129.55( as at 1 July 2021), which reduces out of pocket expenses. In order to claim the Medicare rebate for your sessions you will need to bring a valid copy of your doctor’s referral under this plan, to your first appointment. If you are unable to provide your referral you will be required to pay the full fee for the session.
